Double Exposure

A year after the release of Exposure, Double Exposure was released. This time more bands wanted to anticipate in the concept. So in the end it turned out to be a double vynil album with contributions from England, Spain, Germany, The Netherlands and Italy. Again the concept was to give bands a change, which just had released an album or were in the progress making one. But this time it turned out to be that bigger names were involved.

Ishtar - M'Allegro Molto Vivace
The Bond - Seriously Sibling
Mazlyn Jones - First Light
Heimdal - Somnis
No Man Is An Island Except For The Isle Of Man - Faith's Last Doubt
Anthony Philips - Promenade
Rousseau - Breakfast At Tiffany's
Airspeed - Far Away Screams
Haze - In The End
Plenty - Forest Almost Burning / Sacrifice
Rog Patterson - Party Piece
Galadriel - Summit
Abel Ganz - Dangers Of Strangers
Weirdstone (the old trip) - Circles
Egdon Heath - In The City
Notturno Concertante - Nocturne

Anthony Philips is the best known participant on the album. Guitarist in the first line-up of Genesis, left the band in 1970 and has had a very productive solo career with various styles on a lot of albums. But what to think of The Bond, band of ex Twelfth Night singer Geoff Mann, Abel Ganz again, like of course No Man...
Even the old band of Tim Bowness, Plenty, is featured with a song Forest Almost Burning / Sacrifice, of which the first one turned up on the Girl From Missouri EP in 1989 (see earlier post for the No-Man version).

The contribution of Abel Ganz is from their third tape Dangers of Strangers, which was released some years later on CD by Ugum, and re-released by Witness in 2005. Now the band has a new re-release with bonustrack (the version of Dangers of Strangers from this album) and enhancement (video of making Dangers of Strangers) avialable through their own website. Dutch band Egdon Heath contribued the title track from their first release In The City.

Galadriel, Rousseau and Haze were already established bands in the scene. Rog Patterson tried it on his own this time and bands like Isthar, Weirdstone and Heimdal came up as quick as they disappeared afterwards.

Thanks for the AWESOME exposure samplers!!!
Unfortunately the song of Weirdstone seems to be missing. Track 14 is just the same as track 15+16 together.

Anyway - thanks a lot and keep on posting!

Any chance of reposting this? I used to have this on vinyl. It is the only place you can get "Faith's Last Doubt". In general, this was a killer compilation. If you also can post Exposure that would be welcome too.

Thanks, Bruce
